HOW DOES IT WORK?
Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. The treatment balances your overall QI ("chee") thereby improving your general health. What you see in your skin is due in part to the state of your overall health, so this improvement in your general health will also reflect positively in your skin. What is happening is that the needles cause microtrauma in the skin and your body perceives that as an injury. It then sends fibroblasts (cells which can form collagen and elastin) to the needling sites to heal them. The wound healing process has the effect of balancing the dispersal of collagen as well, so that the results are widespread, not just in certain areas. This explains the process of why you achieve "lift", why your skin tone improves and why your skin is more elastic and supple.
